3 Verse 1 I am the man that sees poverty, Verse 2 He has taken me, and led me away into darkness, Verse 3 Nay, against me has he turned his hand all the day. Verse 4 He has made old my flesh and my skin; Verse 5 He has built against me, and compassed my head, Verse 6 He has set me in dark places, Verse 7 He has built against me, and I cannot come forth: Verse 8 Yea, though I cry and shout, Verse 9 He has built up my ways, Verse 10 He has troubled me, Verse 11 He pursued me after I departed, Verse 12 He has bent his bow, Verse 13 He has caused the arrows of his quiver Verse 14 I became a laughingstock to all my people; Verse 15 He has filled me with bitterness, Verse 16 And he has dashed out my teeth with gravel, Verse 17 He has also removed my soul from peace: Verse 18 Therefore my success has perished, Verse 19 I remembered by reason of my poverty, Verse 20 And my soul shall meditate with me. Verse 21 This will I lay up in my heart, Verse 22 It is the mercies of the Lord, Verse 23 They are new every morning: Verse 24 The Lord is my portion, says my soul; Verse 25 The Lord is good to them that wait for him: Verse 26 Is good, and shall wait for, Verse 27 It is good for a man Verse 28 He will sit alone, and be silent, Verse 30 He will give his cheek to him that smites him: Verse 31 For the Lord will not reject forever. Verse 32 For he that has brought down will pity, Verse 33 He has not answered in anger from his heart, Verse 34 To bring down under his feet Verse 35 To turn aside the judgment of a man Verse 36 To condemn a man unjustly in his judgment, Verse 37 Who has thus spoken, and it has come to pass? Verse 38 Out of the mouth of the Most High Verse 39 Why should a living man complain, Verse 40 Our way has been searched out and examined, Verse 41 Let us lift up our hearts with our hands Verse 42 We have sinned, Verse 43 Thou hast visited us in wrath, Verse 44 Thou hast veiled thyself with a cloud Verse 45 And be cast off. Verse 46 All our enemies have opened their mouth against us. Verse 47 Fear and wrath are come upon us, Verse 48 Mine eye shall pour down torrents of water, Verse 49 Mine eye is drowned with tears, Verse 50 Until the Lord look down, Verse 51 Mine eye shall prey upon my soul, Verse 52 The fowlers chased me as a sparrow, Verse 53 And laid a stone upon me. Verse 54 Water flowed over my head: Verse 55 I called upon thy name, O Lord, Verse 56 Thou heardest my voice: Verse 57 Thou drewest nigh to my help: Verse 58 O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; Verse 59 Thou hast seen, O Lord, my troubles: Verse 60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance, Verse 61 Thou hast heard their reproach Verse 62 The lips of them that rose up against me, Verse 63 Their sitting down and their rising up: Verse 64 Thou wilt render them a recompense, O Lord, Verse 65 Thou wilt give them as a covering, Verse 66 Thou wilt persecute them in anger,
