BEN'E-BE'RAK (son of lightning), a city of Dan, Josh 19:45, probably Ibn Ibrak, near el-Yehudizeh. BENEFAC'TORS was a title given to several rulers, particularly to two of the Egyptian Ptolemies, who are called accordingly in the Greek form Euergetes. Hence our Lord's remark, Luke 22:25. It is analogous to our title "Excellency."
