MIG'DAL-GAD (tower of God), a town of Judah, near Lachish, Josh 15:37-39; now Mejdel, a prosperous village of 1500 inhabitants, 2 miles east of Ascalon. It is surrounded by olive trees and cultivated fields. Its houses are well built, its streets dirty. Broken columns, hewn stones, and other ancient ruins are found there.
