Sirach 42 — GMV

42 Verse 1 Of these things be not thou ashamed, ^{Verse 2} Of the law of the most High, and his covenant; ^{Verse 3} Of reckoning with thy partners and travelers; ^{Verse 4} Of exactness of balance and weights; ^{Verse 5} And of merchants’ indifferent selling; ^{Verse 6} Sure keeping is good, where an evil wife is; ^{Verse 7} Deliver all things in number and weight; ^{Verse 8} Be not ashamed to inform the unwise and foolish, ^{Verse 9} A daughter is a wakeful care to a father; ^{Verse 10} In her virginity, lest she should be defiled ^{Verse 11} Keep a sure watch over a shameless daughter, ^{Verse 12} Behold not everybody’s beauty, ^{Verse 13} For from garments cometh a moth, ^{Verse 14} Better is the churlishness of a man than a courteous woman, ^{Verse 15} I will now remember the works of the Lord, ^{Verse 16} The sun that giveth light looketh upon all things, ^{Verse 17} The Lord hath not given power to the saints to declare all his marvelous works, ^{Verse 18} He seeketh out the deep, and the heart, ^{Verse 19} Declaring the things that are past, and for to come, ^{Verse 20} No thought escapeth him, ^{Verse 21} He hath garnished the excellent works of his wisdom, ^{Verse 22} Oh how desirable are all his works! ^{Verse 23} All these things live and remain forever for all uses, ^{Verse 24} All things are double one against another: ^{Verse 25} One thing establisheth the good of another:
