142 Verse 1 A Psalm of David, when his son pursued him. ^{Verse 2} And enter not into judgment with thy servant, ^{Verse 3} For the enemy has persecuted my soul; ^{Verse 4} Therefore my spirit was grieved in me; ^{Verse 5} I remembered the days of old; ^{Verse 6} I spread forth my hands to thee; ^{Verse 7} Hear me speedily, O Lord; ^{Verse 8} Cause me to hear thy mercy in the morning; ^{Verse 9} Deliver me from mine enemies, O Lord; ^{Verse 10} Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God; ^{Verse 11} Thou shalt quicken me, O Lord, for thy name’s sake; ^{Verse 12} And in thy mercy thou wilt destroy mine enemies,
