2 Verse 1 And it came to pass on a certain day, ^{Verse 2} And the Lord said to the devil, Whence comest thou? ^{Verse 3} And the Lord said to the devil, ^{Verse 4} And the devil answered and said to the Lord, ^{Verse 5} Nay, but put forth thy hand, and touch his bones and his flesh: ^{Verse 6} And the Lord said to the devil, Behold, I deliver him up to thee; ^{Verse 7} So the devil went out from the Lord, ^{Verse 8} And he took a potsherd to scrape away the discharge, ^{Verse 9} And when much time had passed, his wife said to him, ^{Verse 10} But he looked on her, and said to her, ^{Verse 11} Now his three friends having heard of all the evil that was come upon him, ^{Verse 12} And when they saw him from a distance they did not know him; ^{Verse 13} And they sat down beside him seven days and seven nights,
