Psalms 41 — ULB
For the chief musician. A psalm of David.
41Verse 1Blessed is he who is concerned for the weak;in the day of trouble, Yahweh will rescue him.
Verse 2Yahweh will preserve him and keep him alive,
and he will be blessed on the earth;
Yahweh will not turn him over to the will of his enemies.
Verse 3Yahweh will support him on the bed of suffering;
you will make his bed of sickness into a bed of healing.
Verse 4I said, “Yahweh, have mercy on me!
Heal me, for I have sinned against you.”
Verse 5My enemies speak evil against me, saying,
'When will he die and his name perish?'
Verse 6If my enemy comes to see me, he says worthless things;
his heart gathers up my disaster for itself;
when he goes away from me, he tells others about it.
Verse 7All who hate me whisper together against me;
against me they hope for my hurt.
Verse 8They say, “An evil disease holds on tightly to him;
now that he is lying down, he will rise up no more.”
Verse 9Indeed, even my own close friend, in whom I trusted,
who ate my bread,
has lifted up his heel against me.
Verse 10But you, Yahweh, have mercy on me and raise me up
so that I may pay them back.
Verse 11By this I know that you delight in me,
for my enemy does not triumph over me.
Verse 12As for me, you support me in my integrity
and will keep me before your face forever.
Verse 13May Yahweh, the God of Israel be praised
from everlasting to everlasting.
Amen and Amen.
