33Verse 1Rejoice in Yahweh, you righteous;
praise is appropriate for the upright.
Verse 2Give thanks to Yahweh with the harp;
sing praises to him with the harp of ten strings.
Verse 3Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully and sing with joy.
Verse 4For Yahweh's word is upright,
and everything he does is fair.
Verse 5He loves righteousness and justice.
The earth is full of Yahweh's covenant faithfulness.
Verse 6By the word of Yahweh the heavens were made,
and all the stars were made by the breath of his mouth.
Verse 7He gathers the waters of the sea together like a heap;
he puts the oceans in storehouses.
Verse 8Let the whole earth fear Yahweh;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
Verse 9For he spoke, and it was done;
he commanded, and it stood in place.
Verse 10Yahweh frustrates the alliances of nations;
he overrules the plans of the peoples.
Verse 11The plans of Yahweh stand forever,
the plans of his heart for all generations.
Verse 12Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh,
the people whom he has chosen as his own inheritance.
Verse 13Yahweh looks from heaven;
he sees all the people.
Verse 14From the place where he lives,
he looks down on all who live on the earth.
Verse 15He who shapes the hearts of them all
observes all their deeds.
Verse 16No king is saved by a vast army;
a warrior is not saved by his great strength.
Verse 17A horse is a false hope for victory;
in spite of his great strength, he cannot rescue.
Verse 18See, Yahweh's eye is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his covenant faithfulness
Verse 19to deliver their lives from death
and to keep them alive in times of famine.
Verse 20We wait for Yahweh;
he is our help and our shield.
Verse 21Our hearts rejoice in him,
for we trust in his holy name.
Verse 22Let your covenant faithfulness, Yahweh, be with us
as we put our hope in you.
