Psalms 116 — ULB

116Verse 1I love Yahweh because he hears
my voice and my pleas for mercy.
^{Verse 2}Because he listened to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.
^{Verse 3}The cords of death surrounded me,
and the snares of Sheol confronted me;
I felt anguish and sorrow.
^{Verse 4}Then I called on the name of Yahweh:
“Please Yahweh, rescue my life.”
^{Verse 5}Yahweh is merciful and fair;
our God is compassionate.
^{Verse 6}Yahweh protects the naive;
I was brought low, and he saved me.
^{Verse 7}My soul can return to its resting place,
for Yahweh has been good to me.
^{Verse 8}For you rescued my life from death,
my eyes from tears,
and my feet from stumbling.
^{Verse 9}I will serve Yahweh
in the land of the living.
^{Verse 10}I believed in him, even when I said,
“I am greatly afflicted.”
^{Verse 11}In my confusion I said,
“All men are liars.”
^{Verse 12}How can I repay Yahweh
for all his kindnesses to me?
^{Verse 13}I will raise the cup of salvation,
and call on the name of Yahweh.
^{Verse 14}I will fulfill my vows to Yahweh
in the presence of all his people.
^{Verse 15}Precious in the sight of Yahweh
is the death of his saints.
^{Verse 16}Yahweh, indeed, I am your servant;
I am your servant, the son of your servant woman;
you have taken away my bonds.
^{Verse 17}I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving
and will call on the name of Yahweh.
^{Verse 18}I will fulfill my vows to Yahweh
in the presence of all his people,
^{Verse 19}in the courts of Yahweh's house,
in your midst, Jerusalem.
Praise Yahweh.
