9Verse 1Then Job answered and said,Verse 2I know of a truth that it is so:Verse 3For if he would enter into judgment with him,Verse 4For he is wise in mind, and mighty, and great:Verse 5Who wears out the mountains, and men know it not:Verse 6Who shakes the earth under heaven from its foundations,Verse 7Who commands the sun, and it rises not;Verse 8Who alone has stretched out the heavens,Verse 9Who makes Pleiades, and Hesperus, and Arcturus, and the chambers of the south.Verse 10Who does great and unsearchable things;Verse 11If ever he should go beyond me, I shall not see him:Verse 12If he would take away, who shall turn him back?Verse 13For if he has turned away his anger,Verse 14Oh then that he would hearken to me, or judge my cause.Verse 15For though I be righteous, he will not hearken to me:Verse 16And if I should call and he should not hearken,Verse 17Let him not crush me with a dark storm:Verse 18For he suffers me not to take breath,Verse 19For indeed he is strong in power:Verse 20For though I should seem righteous, my mouth will be profane:Verse 21For even if I have sinned, I know it not in my soul:Verse 22Wherefore I said, Wrath slays the great and mighty man.Verse 23For the worthless die,Verse 24For they are delivered into the hands of the unrighteous man:Verse 25But my life is swifter than a post:Verse 26Or again, is there a trace of their path left by ships?Verse 27And if I should say, I will forget to speak,Verse 28I quake in all my limbs,Verse 29But since I am ungodly, why have I not died?Verse 30For if I should wash myself with snow,Verse 31Thou hadst thoroughly plunged me in filth,Verse 32For thou art not man like me, with whom I could contend,Verse 33Would that he our mediator were present, and a reprover,Verse 34Let him remove his rod from me,Verse 35So shall I not be afraid, but I will speak:
